The Funeral Service Association of Canada Announces Diane Hull as Executive Director

[OTTAWA, ONTARIO] The Funeral Service Association of Canada (FSAC) has announced the appointment of Diane Hull as the Association’s Executive Director.

Diane Hull brings with her over four decades of experience with a diverse background in financial management, office administration, and event coordination, in the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. She has been acting as the Association’s interim Executive Director since August of 2018.


“FSAC has been diligently searching for an Executive Director. After many interviews, our HR committee made a recommendation to hire Diane Hull. The Board of Director’s were pleased with the recommendation, knowing that someone who had done an outstanding job in the acting executive director role was proven to be the best fit moving forward” says Brett Watson, President of FSAC. “As our Association’s acting Executive Director for the last year, she not only brings great experience with her, but she has also had the opportunity to form working relationships with our members, board and committees” concludes Brett. 


As the Executive Director, Diane will be responsible for tasks related to and management of operational planning, board support, program planning, networking, advocacy and communications, membership support, as well as human resource and fiscal planning.


“I have had a very diverse career and the pleasure of working in the not-for-profit sector with organizations such as the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement, the Appraisal Institute of Canada, and the Ottawa Community Housing Corporation to name a few. I have also worked in the Public sector with several Federal Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament and the Governor General of Canada” says Diane Hull. “I was hired by FSAC as Administrative Assistant in August of 2017 and the experience with the Association since has been incredible. Our members’ passion for funeral service, as well as the board, committees and members’ dedication to our association’s mission is unlike anything I have seen before. Being promoted to the Association’s Executive Director is a job that I take very seriously, and I look forward to working with everyone for years to come” concludes Diane.
