In this session we will learn how to offer greener products to families in a prearrangement or at need situation. We will also learn what Natural Burial can look like through photos of actual services I have arranged. We will discuss what the future might look like and how funeral homes and funeral staff can be leading in education on options available to families. You will learn how to "think outside the box" when it comes to services for our families.
This session has been submitted for 1 CEU credit. Confirmations have been received to date from Ontario, PEI, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Saskatchewan.
*For licensees in Alberta and New Brunswick, it is up to the licensee to justify their own continuing education credits in line with the core competencies.
Speaker Bio
Sarah Sunnucks
Sarah graduated from the Humber College Funeral Service Education Program and was licensed as a Funeral Director in 2012. She has worked at Smith's Funeral Home in Burlington for 4 years. She has a grief counseling certificate from Heritage College and leads seminars for her funeral home and staff education. She is a mother of 5 kids and enjoys being a part of the Funeral Peer Support in Hamilton, Ontario. Smith's Funeral Home has been on the Green Burial Council since 2009 and were the first funeral home in Canada to do so. She has prearranged green burials in conjunction with cemeteries in her area.
