On June 12th, FSAC was contacted by Joanne Levasseur of CBC Winnipeg. Ms. Levasseur was doing a follow up article regarding an alleged event taking place in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She was seeking an interview with an FSAC representative who could provide comments from a National Association and funeral service professionals’ perspective.

The story concerned the Winnipeg Police serving a search warrant on the Wheeler Cemetery. Police indicated they had reasonable grounds to believe Chad Wheeler "indecently offer[ed] an indignity to the human remains placed in his care as a funeral director/embalmer by throwing cremated ashes sealed in a plastic bag into the retention ponds" between July 5, 2011, and March 19, 2018.
