Air Canada Now Allowing AC Cargo to Ship COVID-19 Positive Human Remains: Form Required
As of January 2021 Air Canada has begun to allow human remains to be shipped by AC Cargo that have died of COVID-19. Prior to Jan '21 Air Canada would not permit remains to be forwarded on their airline that died with COVID-19.
The attached form must be filled out and requirements must be strictly complied with. All other requirements associated with the Air Cargo Security/Transport Canada Known Consignor program and Screening remain in effect and must be complied with. FSAC has contacted Air Canada to respond to some of the requirements and awaits further developments.
This is only intended for use with a COVID Positive case. Air Canada only changed their policy regarding transporting COVID cases in 2021 and as a result developed this form. It is not to be used in Non COVID-19 cases. It is also important to note that Hermetic sealers are not required for domestic transportation.
